Michael D. Charles, MD, attended the University of California San Diego School of Medicine, and received his medical degree in 2012. Furthermore, he conducted his orthopedic surgery residency at The Keck School of Medicine of USC in Lod Angeles, CA (2012-2017). During his residency training, he received the Herman-Epstein Award for teaching and leadership and served as Administrative Chief Resident. In addition, Dr. Charles completed his fellowship training in shoulder and elbow surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL (2017-2018). He received board certification in orthopedic surgery from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He remains an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons. In addition to his medical degree, he holds a Summa Cum Laude BS degree in Biological Sciences as well as a Summa Cum Laude BA degree in English acquired at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, RI (2003).
